The tank is in my garage. My floor can't handle that kind of weight where I live. I have two 300 watt heaters in the sump. It is going to get below 40 degrees here tonight. 37, I think. My issue is that my budget ran out before I could purchase my tank top. Gotta get that done before winter's full onslaught.PostalPenguin;4521016; said:Looks awesome.
I have one question about the tank though. Steel is an excellent thermal conductor(much more than glass or plywood) and so that steel is transferring the heat of the water to the room quite easily. Seems like it would require extra heating or does the room temperature keep stable year round?
Also secondly that bamboo plant you have in there isn't fully aquatic and is only supposed to have its roots under water. Otherwise it will slowly die.
Pretty awesome build though.![]()

I am aware of the bamboo not being fully submersible. However it is growing well and sending masses of roots. My sister is a plant expert and told me that it is a weed and somewhat of a nussiance, also very hardy and will only die if you are an idiot. I figured I'd give it a shot since my tank is so tall. I plan on some amazon swords soon too.
Thanks for the feedbasck!![]()
