my 200gal DIY tank build!!(load warning)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
so i am finally able to continue on the build. the wetsuit will be arriving on tuesday so i am going to prep my tank to be water proofed my one question is is it better to have the overflow in the middle and a return on both corners, the overflow on the corners and return in the middle, or the over flow on one end of the tank and the return on the opposite?? what are the benefits, if any, on the different layouts.

so i had a few set backs and the glass is finally in. photo.JPGphoto(2).JPGphoto(3).JPG
so i had to remove the 2x4 framing because the glass for the sides was too long by 2/8 of an inch and i didn't want to pay for the grinding of that much glass. so i replaced the 2x4 with 3/4 ply. in the corners at the top of the ply i added triangle braces for strength and on the corners of the glass there is 90º auminum bracing for added support and to protect the corners of the glass. i still have a plenty left to do but hopefully it should move along a little quicker now.

looking great. i was considerign a plywood/glass build like this. viewable from the required sides the rest can be plywood.

what type of tank do you plan on this being?

i am going to be moving my three datnoids into it and my mbu for now all are under 7" so this will be good for a while i also plan on getting a few more fish to throw in there but not sure what yet.

Looks Great I like your design of a ply tank. Can't wait for some updates keep up the great work.
