...and another piece of the puzzle comes together - I scored a 90g off CL today for $25!! I will use this for my sump. I wanted a 75g or to make my own, but the 90g will work great, especially for $25. I will need to order some glass hole saws to plumb in my pumps and heater and hit up the local glass shop to cut me some baffles for the sump guts.

Well I have learned a couple things while polishing this monster -
It takes a long time, I have been working on it off and on all day today. I have most of the heavy scratch removal done by sanding, the outside of the tank has been sanded and polished with Novus #3. I still need to hit the inside with the Novus #3 and go back over the entire tank with Novus #2 and #1.
My automotive style 9" buffer is too big, it is very difficult working inside the tank with it, the handles do not allow me to get close to the corners. I found an el-cheapo 6" palm buffer at Harbor Freight, going to pick it up tomorrow AM and try to complete this process before the weekend is out.
The Meguiars sanding blocks work great. I do wish I would have purchased a 3000 grit block in addition to the 1000 and 2000 I have. I think this would make the buffing with Novus #3 easier and quicker and possibly provide better results.
Overall, I'm quite happy how this is turning out.

Picked up the Harbor Freight 6" buffer yesterday morning and went to town polishing. For a $100 tank, I think it turned out great! There are a few scratches I could not get out, but they do not seem to be very visible with water in the tank. The cheapo 6" buffer worked great, it allowed me to get in the corners inside the tank and was easier to handle then my big buffer. For $17 it was a good deal even if I never use it again.
Now it is time to start putting the sump together.
