You will always see something in the water. Look at the pics of my sand. The waste gets worked up and floats around until it goes in the filter. You will never have a perfect tank. Unless you stop feeding your fish. (not suggested)
My tank has two 1300GPH circulators also. You can see one with the pic looking up at the Oscars. It keeps the water flowing so the waste gets in the filtration. But it's not foolproof.
LOL...The room was pitch Black when I took this a minute ago. The sand gets blown around by the circulation pumps leaving a crater in the front..
Don't look at the dust on the front of the cabinet. lol
I bought a Pot at Lowes. Golden Pothos... Took the pot apart and cleaned the dirt off of the roots and dipped them in the sump. They love the fish water...
Excellent Question... He was in a 25Gallon for a year with the cory cat, angel, and rubber pleco. All he did was hang in the bushes/not swimming at all. We got a new couch that was huge (little tank in the way) so I merged the 25 into the 220 and stored the old 25tank in the basement. Once in the 220 he doesn't stop moving. Looks like a real shark on a feeding frenzy when I feed them. I have a 900Gallon pool but I haven't decided when he gets bigger if I'm going to keep him and set up the pool/pond in the basement or take him back to the LFS. I know the 220 will be to small for him once he gets bigger. I love the video on youtube of the 1000G pond with 2 foot and 2 1/2 foot Id sharks in it...
Haha yes I love going on youtube and seeing ID Shark vids. There are some great pictures floating around of huge ID sharks on this site too. They are an amazing fish! Keep us updated with pics and your future plans!
