Can you show a source that states all rotkeils have the features you mention? Have the fish been officially described yet? I don't recall seeing this before so I'm curious. Out of all the severums I've seen and owned, very few have yellow anal fins.

By the way, I think H. appendiculatus has been collapsed into H. efasciatus and is no longer valid.

So, 'distributers' never label fish incorrectly then? I don't know what a 'distributer' is as I am not in the U.S., but both fish shops and breeders have been known to bend the truth slightly before ;)
Dude, I'm not going to get into a debate with you on something that you already believe that you know. I was speaking to Honda. Derailing this thread by starting a pointless argument is not what I'm here for. You are free to believe what you want but I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you.

The yellow can vary from pure yellow to orange to red. I already said that.

I'm not looking for an argument. I was actually replying to Honda and you were the one who felt he needed to comment on my comment, or rather his comment in response to mine.

Maybe it's different in the U.S. but a lot of sellers in the UK sell fish labelled as Rotkeils for premium money, and it turns out they aren't even Rotties. Just wondered if something similar had happened here......

Source does count here, i had them shipped from rapp (tangled up in cichlids), he is one of the best sellers out there, and well known on this site, which he owns mainly wild stocks that he breeds. rotkeil doesn't really bring the price up considering you can get them for $10. Thanks for the derail though.

Downsizing? :( Are you keeping the stock? I eyeballed Jeff's rotkeils for a while but never got around to paying shipping since I am stock heavy as it is. GL Nick.

yep i'm downsizing to only a few tanks.:( I'm keeping the rotkeil, super red and the dicrozoster, they are going my 180g. I got a couple before but just had bad luck with rapps rotkeil, it always seemed like something was out to kill them. But i ordered a notatus, and there was a mix up, and it ended up being a rotkeil. He is a very pretty fish, he just needs to be less shy.

Great fish. Love the Bahia. My fav geo. I have a juvie Brasiliensis thats showing promising colors. Can you post more pics please.

How about a for sale video that shows them all off?
