good to see sing bros here acquiring interest in NA fish like pike

usually it's us drooling over their fish

cavallino, it's linhead from AF.....we've chatted b4......how did u get pike over there??.....they're illegal to purchase here from lfh since they are deemed gamefish

ever consider african pike like CDM's.....they don't get as big....i have 5 and they eat cheap smelts like champs

hey man... good to c ya here too.

i've always been fascinated by this pike.... we normally only get to see them every 2 or 3 years when one of our bigger distributors brings them in. i've never had much luck with this fish, probably because our warmer climate doesn't go down well with them.. but this time round, my 3 pike have been doing ok, they're now about 4"+ and its been about 3 weeks already. the last few times i tried keeping pike, they died in a matter of days.

right.....the key is cooler temps......i suspect if u can keep low temps for goldfish then it would be same for pike........no need for heaters for sure

good luck.....they're gonna bust ur tank soon

In N. Dakota the min. keeper size is 24" for northerns and 36" for muskies. favorite bait is 8-10"cutlips minnows.

yep. i suspect they're doing better this time because they're captive bred, in waters that are not as cold, so the adjustment is not too great.

bust my tank? i'm forward to it!!!! :grinno:

lol

yes u did

lol

:hitting:

hey guppy, these sing bros have no idea about how big northerns can get....i used to catch 10 pounders with ease here......30 pounders were caught once in a while by locals

but who knows how long it will take to get to even 5 lb size......it would be one mean SOB

ive never seen feeder catfish, what kind are they?

and tigers get over 52" easily. make a pond that slopes with a constant depth of 3 ft. about 15 ft long and 6 ft wide, put a water fall at one end and a huge drain at the other so its like a river. (or straem).

it might work
