So this is my first serious marine tank.... Any advice on the set up, equipment ect please feel free to share... All part of the learning curve..

350 gal glass tank,
Sump 80 gallon
Reef octopus skimmer, rated at 1500 l
Reef octopus carbon reactor running sea chem matrix carbon
Reef octopus phosphate reactor running rowa phosban media
72 in full bright t-5 3 bulb light display tank
24 in full bright t-5 2 bulb light on sump
About 70 kg live rock
Generic coral sand 1 in deep
2x sun sun 12000 l/hr circulation pumps
1x sun sun 6000 l/hr circulation pump
Main tank pump is resun 8500 l/hr
1x haliea pump for more water movement

Also forgot the tank stock list

2x blue ribbon eels
1 humu picasso
1 green bird wrasse
3 Niger triggers
2 fox faces
1 big eye solider fish
1 blue spiny lobster

This is the max amount of fish that will be stocked in the tank

In the sump I have
3 small clownfish

For cleanup crew I have

4 blue leg hermits
1 horseshoe crab
7 sea cucumbers
3 chocolate chip starfish
10 or so turban snails
2 urchins
8 tube worms... Not sure if they count as clean up or not

The cleanup crew is split between the display tank and sump

Pics when I get home from work

Oh and I almost forgot.. 1 dogfish orientalis.... My wife bought,,, didn't qt and added to the tank while I was at work about 2 months ago, she thought he was "cute".....not realizing how big it could get....

you have 7 cucumbers? They need ALOT of sand to feed, or they are filter feeders in which case they arent cleanup crew they are decorative and need to be fed regularily, in other words it is very likely starve eventualy, which im sad to say. Also when harrassed they have been known to expell their innards as a defence mecanism which can be toxic to your system. The horseshoe crab will eat the same stuff and will also likely starve eventualy as well...

Chocolate chip stars don't count as cleanup crew as they are full carnivores.

Also your triggers will sooner or later eat your cleanup crew, or your chocolate chip stars will, or the lobster will... one of the 3 will kill all your cleanup.

I don't know how the fish will treat eachother so I will leave that to others.

sorry fort the low quality shots....im not great with a camera, but anyways heres what i got, no fish shots as here all sleeping as its 2 am here

How much did you pay for it all?

I was all excited to setup my new tank as a fowlr, until I started putting together numbers and realized it would cost 3k in equipment not including the tank, or any form of lighting.

well i live in thailand so, some things are dirt cheap other stuff not so cheap, tank, sump, pump...cost about 1000 usd but built on site, the stainless steel support structure that was powder coated included.. then the wood cabinet that is integrated into the support to add a second level or structure another 1000 ... the skimmer and reactors like 850 usd, lights another 200... but live rock is like 2 usd per kg, delivered from 5 min away so no die off at all.. fish maxmum 15-20 usd, i always get a laugh when looking at live aquaria, when comparing prices, ie huge scribbled angel will set me back like 30 usd... compared to few hundred in the us... anyways i think ive spent like 4k usd maybe a little more

So far all is well, 7 months running now, 2 inhabitants have passed on, 1 green mandarin...although it has never been found or seen again... And one pebble crab, the lobster did it it.. But who knows, maybe Ive been lucky thus far I guess success is measured in years not months,

I could use some ideas on a dedicated electrical system design/breaker box for the tank... Anyone feel like sharing?
