First and formost I'd like to let everyone know that progress is going to creep along very slowly. As I may only go as fast as time and money may permit. Origionaly I wasn't even going to make any posts until I was complete but I had to share. So here it is......

First a pic of my workshop.....err driveway

The top of the stand is built using 9" I-joists

My buddy Mike and Daughter Rylee. My kids thought the cordless impact was too loud so they wore my hats to protect their ears.

We had some leftover 6X6 helmock from a barn project so I thought they would make nice legs.

:irked:Now that's a good start to the thread. I accidentally double posted my pics.

thought you were building 2......1 for me :ROFL::ROFL:

The dimensions will be 30"deepX36"tallX120"long. The sides and back will be 2x4s stacked on the flat and laced at the corners (a la nolapete). The glass front will be 1/2" glass. As far as a sealent I am not quite sure. I've been looking into the insl-x that muni is using. But that is still up in the air.

A change that will save you more than a couple 2x4s is to build the walls like a house but go 12"OC, add an extra 2x along the top overlapping the sides and bolt the corners. I build a 360G years ago this way (96x30x30) and it worked great. Granted, you are going a little longer but I can imagine that would make a big difference. That tall I have a feeling they are going to suggest a thicker glass. My current build is 30" tall and I am going with 5/8s. Good luck!

I am gonna ask... Interesting idea of using the I beams..Is the chip board gonna be strong enough to hold up 3200# of water??
