I am going to Transfer my fish from the 30 Hex into a 46 bow front. I picked it up with stand and light (basically the entire set up minus the filer system) for 150. I tested the tank for leaks and nothing. That was my biggest concern about buying a used tank. After class one day I went over to the local landscape company and picked up a few rocks. The rocks where called “Emerald Green”. I went to Tropical Haven in Modesto, Ca for the driftwood. I am doing this so I can use my 30 hex as a fry grow out for the German Blue Rams. I will be ordering plants and black florite as well as black florite sand and play sand. This will also be my first planted tank.

Thanks a lot… hopefully it will be soon. We are in the process of selling our land, so I am just waiting on the set up. It would be one less tank to move..

I have a 205 on my 30 hex, and a 405 on my 90 gallon. Both have been great. And the replacement parts are easy to come by if you need them.

nice tank how do you like that fluval.

How do I attach the two pieces of driftwood together shown above? The reason for doing is, because the way I want them in the tank could be dangerous for any fish under it, if the structure was to shift for any reason. I would be using a sand floor so that will not be any help. What is the best way to do so?

Thanks for the help... wouldn't the silicone just give way after being water loged...?

you could silicone or screw them to slate; or silicone them to eachother, or do both to make them more stable.
