i like it alot, but is that a rubber band i see at the top of the driftwood in the upper left hand corner? Sorry, but that's all i would remove, and as for plants on the bottom, i don't think you need any, but if you want, I'd go with the moss balls.
oh and that shell, because its calcerous and will raise the pH, but other than that I think it looks utterly amazing and tranquil. The bannana plants really give the whole tank character. Good job!
Haha the shell was not my idea AT ALL. My girlfriend picked up for me on her most recent oceanographic trips and threw it in. I protested, but as most men do w/ their women, I lost the fight. And the bands are only up there to keep the wood together, wanted to have that root look. Im looking for black rubber bands though.

haha nice. so true. Also, instead of a rubber band, maybe try siliconing them together, unless the rubber band doesn't bother you.Or you could go with clear fishing line to tie it together. Its practically invisible, and won't deteriorate over time like the rubberband.
I almost picked up a couple of those banana plants for my 1g pico, but I decided against it. They look goo with a betta though.
