Didn't even realize we had a reptile section, here. I've posted pics of my Morays, in the "Monster Fish" section, so I might as well go ahead and post pics of this guy.

I've only had him for a little over a week. I adopted him from a friend who no longer wanted to care for him. First order of business is to get him off the sand and onto appropriate substrate. Also, I'm moving him from the 40gal. breeder into an empty 200gal. that I have.

IT WAS ON SAND?!?!?!?!?!!? Do this to your friend: :nutkick:

How old is she?

Don't power fed these things, everyone sais they get big fast but I think its because they are fed to much, to often.

I hope you know what your getting yourself into!

nice pics man

Yep...on sand, for a little over a year now.

And HE is doing much better now that I'm feeding him rats. My friend was weekly feeding white mice.

And yes, I know exactly what I'm getting myself in to...this isn't my first snake (I've even kept venomous). And, being a male...he'll only get to be 10' - 12', which I can fully take care of. It were a female, I'd have problems later on down the road.

Absolutely beautiful.....easily my favorite snake........I wanna get the exact same thing in a few months, a nice albino male........great job rescuing him too:D .....

Awsome looking Burm!!

I know it doesnt look the best but I use news paper for my big girl. Its cheap, easy to obtain, pest free, doesnt get eaten, easy to clean..........did I mention its CHEAP!

Just curious, can't the sand actually be quite bad for the burm?? He seems to be swallowing some there, in the one picture you can see it in his mouth and the other on the mouse's tail, was just curious how much of that would have to happen to really hurt the dude..........

I think a snake that big would have to swallow either larger pieces or a hell of a lot before it caused digestive problems. But I would worry about it getting in his eyes, nostril vents, and under his scales.

Off the sand ASAP!
