Tank is now holding most of the fish (no bichirs or FRT, they are in another tank). Opted to put the hystrix ray in instead since the FRT beats up literally everything.
I've been in one of those "blah" fish moods where you're content just feeding your fish every night and making sure everything is okay before going back upstairs. Just need a mental break from the hobby so I can enjoy the new tank without worrying about throwing more money into the stock.
Water is its clearest yet, still could use a water change or three but it should be much more photographable now.
I should be adding another tropical gar soon. I will be doing updates then.
The water cleared up almost entirely for about a couple weeks and now is pretty cloudy again. Could be the tank cycling or could be me just not establishing a good enough WC regiment. Still new to this gigantic tank thing - I plan on hooking up an FX5 as well just for some overkill filtration.
Updates soon. All the fish are doing very well - the afro jumped once but I was working downstairs, saw it right away and tossed him back in. added more weight to the lids.
Some of the smaller gar are not in yet as I don't want the big tropicals fraying their fins or worse (this was happening in the 150). I will let them gain some size before adding them (gold included).
