Hello everyone I thought I would give a little tour of my tank. It's a 55 that has been running for about 4 years now with the Texas being in there for about 18 months now. It has a Cascade 700, Marineland 350 HOB, water lettuce and anacharis for its filtration. All the plants are living off is fish waste and my Home Depot shop light.

Stock List:
1 Female Texas
6 Silver Dollars
1 Bristlenose Pleco
2 3/4inch convicts

The convicts were supposed to be eaten about 6 weeks ago...... Haha!

Well anyways, that's my tank if you guy have any questions or comments let me know, I love to talk about my fish!image.jpg image.jpg

Hmm, well there used to be a female flower horn in there and they paired up but their eggs never took, so I assumed it was just a false female-female pair. And when they were paired the Texas didn't act dominant like a male would.

Also that is her color in the shade of the water lettuce, which by the way the fish love she hangs out under it like its a cave, in the light she is much lighter and blue.

That is a male. No blue blotch on the dorsal and female cyanos don't get a hump like that. I had a 10'' female for about 10 years. Very nice looking texas for sure.

Well I'll be damned, I very much assumed it was female after it lived pretty peacefully with a female flower horn for about a year. Now that I know it's male it makes me want to get a 75! Don't want a 12" fish in a 12" width tank!

He is amazing and totally worth it. You are lucky he is peaceful. My female was really aggressive. She would try to bite me!
