Hey guys,
This is my 2/3 week old community 55g. I've just bought a 84g but it need cleaning up, new stand/hood etc. but once its done, I want to move this lot in there with them.

What do you think of the setup? Temp 76C, params great, light 12 hrs.
Stocking list:
1m,1f aurateus
2m maingano (need to replace one with a few females, but can't get hold of any)
1m,4f caeruleus (yellow labs)
1m,2f blue zebra
1m,2f acei yellow tail
1m,4f stuartgranti (I know they're peacocks, but they've had no hassle at all from the mbuna...hopefully will be even better once in the 84G)

Sorry about the poor quality pics - camera phone.

looks like a nice set up!

from my experiance, i have a 125G set up with approx. 25 cichlids which is over stocked. you should be ok now...but only for a very short period of time. good so see you have a 85 getting set up but im sure you will need something bigger pretty soon!

Also 12 hours of light may be alot! you may get some serious alge growing pretty soon. I think for cichlds you may want to cut that back to 6-8 hours daily.

im by no means a pro at this, but figured i would pass info on that was passed to me from the guys on this board.

Good looking tank though!

its look great so far, just watch the auratus for bullying thy can be a bit nasty. dont wrorry about the peacocks , they wont admit it but a many mix them and its fine ;)

that is a good looking tank!

Those are huge BOLDERS!!!!! nice tank Brudda.

looks great however you have ALOT of weight in the right side of the tank. please tell me you at least have eggcrate under that river boulder. or maybe try to even the weight out. id be afraid over time the weight on the right would contourt the tank.

great fish! i love your stocklist-they will really look great once they get a little bigger! once they reach sexual maturity you may have some aggression/compatibility issues.

just saw you have a 80+ gallon too.. that will be perfect!

Awesome. Thanks for the comments guys.
I've got some eggcrates sorta stuff under there, but when the 84g's done, will def have some proper stuff.
How big a tank would you guys recommend I should have for the stock list at full maturity? 125g?

Cheers

yeah, i think a 125 would be a good size.
