My 7 Jars

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This morning I got up extra early and watched my 7 jars in the tank(1 in the hospital tank). I noticed that the little snowflake chiclids were now being agressive and chasing my jars around the tank. So I watched them for about an hour more. Then I checked on my jar that was in the hospital tank and I noticed he was alot darker than the jars in my big tank. The difference was that I had a brighter light(don't know why) in my hospital tank. - A coralife atintic light. So I go to work and on the way home I pick up some coralife atinitc lights for my big tank. I also take out the four little chiclids who have seem to have gotten more aggresive for some reason. So I change the lights, my tank is a little brighter now with four less chicids....... and my jars stopped fighting each other. I have been watching them from the couch while watching tv for the last five hours. They stopped fight each other for now. Only twice in the past five hours have they squared up with each other but one of them swam away. Now they might chase each other for a second or two but for now they have called a truce. Maybe it's the light, maybe it was the other fish but I little happier that they stopped fighting:headbang2

Those are pretty neat looking fish.....about how big do they max out at?

 Bumping a two year old thread.
I think he only has two of them now.
Jars max out at about 36''

Would be nice to know what happened :D

Make an effort then, search his threads. The answer is there.

Wow this one's from 07!!!! but anyway I ended up separating all of them cause of the fighting lost a couple of here and there to sickness and not eating. I think I had 3 left last year and 1 jumped out of then tank. I still have 2 and they are at least 16" now. They are both in a bigger tank with a silver aro. They don't fight just an occasional fin nip here and there. I'll post another video soon.
