if i may ask, did you calculate anything before building? im just curious what you need to go through to build such a thing.

i calculated that the stand i built was quite stronger than what it needed to be. thats good enough for me. ;o) i just built it as i went... lol not very thought out.

haha!!!! it only blocks half of the patio door and thats the door that doesnt slide.

here is the stand build. i built it tonight. 25 douglas fir 2x4's and a couple of boxes of stanless steel screws.

i would put legs under the 3 middle supports going from side to side. i have the same design on a 4'x4' tank and it sags. i used 2x6 on my other 4'x4' and it worked great
