I don't use any filtration or pumps. Thats one of the reasens why I can't (I don't want to too) keep many large fish. I don't have the money to have a big pump spinnin' 24/7.
I like it this way, but like Thrust sad a southern pike would be cool, but I have to think about that.
I've said before, the way you did this is an extraordinary good idea! :)

But how is the water conditions without a filter?
(I made a really good working filter with small costs,
would happily help you with how to do)

The water is good, remember I just got some golden orfe (15) in it. So bioload is very low and there are many real aquatic plants in. As long as you have got enough unterwaterplants in, there will be no problem keeping all but the largest fish without a filter. At least, that's my experience. It's the balance between plants and fish that does the trick.

hahahaha!! I just found this thread and went through the first page and was thinking what the hell.. the comments just didn't make any sense and niether did the pics.. I'm for the pike! or snoek..
 
I am so totally confused. I just see a bunch of pvc and contraptions-like some crazy filtration system for????
