Those are pretty price, but im sure theyll look great!

For what the LED light does, it's well below the average cost. I have seen light fixtures that do the same for $3000+ for a 48" LED light fixture.
Absolutely Ludicrous!!!

Won't even need a timer anymore. Won't need a secondary moonlight set-up. this is truly an all-in-one proposition. With appropriate fade-in for sunrise and fade-out for sunset as well as moonlight and full daytime lighting all programmed in and adjustable at end-user preference.

It looks to be a great system. Just wish they made a slightly larger unit. It's only 30" long and my tank is 48" so I will have to hoist it up and see if it provides adequate coverage. The company has assured me it will.
Very fast customer service BTW.

For 30" thats a pretty ludicrous price IMO. But all Manufactured LED set-ups are overpriced like heck.

for $400 you could have made your own just like that at the length that you wanted it, with more lights.

I took a moment to replace the original filter intake head with an aftermarket sponge filter intake which is more fish friendly.

Here is the original filter intake that comes with the FX5:

And here is what I replaced it with:

They are almost identical in size so it should not impact any of the performance benefits of the original.

I also cut the original piece of Driftwood into 2 pieces and re-installed it today. Still playing around with ideas on placement, but this is OK for now:

The LED Light fixture should be here in about 1 week.

Looking good so far.

Can't wait to see the LED lights in action to see if their really worth the $ as far as premade fixtures go.

The Orphek is $800 online and $950 in any of the local Pet stores and is only 24" long. I'd have to hang it from the ceiling to get the spread of light to cover my tank.

Aqua Ray is also expensive when you add up the pieces.

Ecoxotic is also very nice but ridiculously overpriced and I don't think it has timers built in or as many features

ACAN is also awesome, great features but very pricey....Ridiculously pricey.

There is a SLIMLITE model fixture which looks great, but I couldn't find anyone in the States selling it.

And the list goes on...
I think I did alright with the size and features I'll be getting. I'll do an intro for the light fixture upon arrival in about 1 week. I'll go over its features, although I think once its set-up, it'll run itself. That's the beauty of it. I won't have to program stupid wall timers.
