My 75 Gallon African Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ugh... mbunafishkeeper

hiding places are hiding places. And if you had even looked at the tank you would have seen there are all of what 3 mbuna in there. (The only fish that really do like the hiding spaces.) All the other haps/peacocks would actually have problems if there were a lot of rocks.

I understand the natural look, most of my tanks are that way. I also get a kick out of say the castle look. Now if it was a pink stone maybe it would have been too much. But this set up I think actually looks nice. Obviously it isn't your thing but that is fine. I just don't see why you feel you have to force your tank preferences onto others.

Enough of that JONP what is the name of the second to last fish. (Sort of like a silver dollar but obviously isn't one.)

thanks for all your comments regardless of where you stand on my setup. To answer, your question Ikevi, I actually have two of those and they are Skats? My understanding is that they can live in either fresh or salt water. I have had all the fish in there for several months and all have grown a lot. The skats especially are doing great, they are extremely active and generally hang out together. All my fish seem to get along really well.

Thanks,

You might want to consider getting rid of the scats they tend to get huge and will probibly end up out growing your tank .They will also get harassed when those mbuna get mature.

the fish are beautiful but i dont like the tank set up. i like a more natural look. heres my old 75. nevermind the circles.

i like your setup! i have the same castles, but got bored with them and switched it all out for rock..

yours looks nice.. that eyebiter will probably outgrow a 75 gallon and you may have to swap him out someday or get a bigger tank for him.. looking good so far!

I've had the castles for about a year now and I'm somewhat bored with them too. I'd like to keep that setup as is and get another tank to move my cichlids into. My family loves the fish hobby and therefore we could put something else in the castle tank. I'd like to get something that schools but stays relatively small. Anything that you would suggest?

Thanks,

right now the trend is for a very natural set up but i like your originality..fish tank setups are to please the fish keeper.. i really do not think fish care all that much.. a hide out is a hide out to them.. very pretty set up and beautiful fish....and spotless looking tank.. shows you really care about the fish and believe me that is all that matters, good job!

id personally go for the more natural look. both for decor and fauna.

your fish look very healthy though. keep it up!
