Eheim 2217
UV Green killing machine 24w
token heater
small internal filter

Plants are anubis and java something on wood and some other stuff.

Stock is 5 EBJDs under 1"
2 fire mouths about half an inch
4 mollies 3F 1M
3" zig zag and tire track eel.

Food
Flakes, omega pellets, hiraki cichlid staple, hiraki cichlid gold, wardley shrimp pellets, frozen BrineShrimp Bloorworms and Krill.

Some future plans are ghost shrimp, more wood/plants.

Just wondering if any one has any advice, add rocks flower pots more plants if specific kind please share. I"m fine with then eating the plant so if any are especially tasty to them iam all for it.

I'm not yet using carbon, should i ? and are molly fry ok for a ebjd snack.

Any recommendations really.

5 EBJDs might be a little too much for a 75 when they are fully grown. Most males hit 10", and females between 6-8".

The Firemouth are fine and so are the mollies. But just a warning your Firemouths will eat your plants, and your EBJDs will at least uproot them. When your EBJDs get bigger they will most likely eat all of your mollies not just the fry.

The fry are fine for your EBJD, and your Firemouth will probably eat them too. But eating feeders all the time is not that healthy.

Other than that your tank looks awesome and you will be OK with that set up for a while but in the future will have to get a new tank to move a couple of EBJDs into.

Hope I was helpful.

Be very cautious with adding new fish/ plants without quarintining them first. They are extremely fragile. I personally don't take a chance with live food. Its all frozen or in pellet form. The one exception is red worms and night crawlers occationally. I never feed aquatic life forms. Your adult mollies probably won't make it out alive after the EBJ get very large. It will be too much stress on them. Also be sure to watch out for any bullying that may take place between the Fire Mouths and the Dempseys. If you have any questions that I may not have covered feel free to pm me. Thanks, Preston.

Man if they grow to that size (please god) i will have no problem of sticking a 55/60 gallon under this tank for one or two of them. Or emptying out one of mu 30 gallons for one of them.

I wont feed them feeders, mollys are in there so if the have fry the other can feast on and that will not be a constant thing. Will probably remove then when the others hit 3/4 inches.

Well i don't really need anything new, if i get plants i will quarantine them. If i get maybe rocks i just wash/boil and then add them.

I wouldn't worry about them growing out of that tank any time soon. They are ridiculously slow growers. I think you have a great setup and wish you the best of luck. The only thing I would worry about would be the firemouths picking on the dempseys. Electric blues tend to cease living at the first hint of adversity.

Don't get your hopes up on the shrimp lasting, haven't kept ghost shrimp with my ebjd but based on the way he smashes krill the ghost shrimp will probably be seen as food but since ghost shrimp are so cheap you have nothing to loose. If you feeds the ebjd good food and keep the water pristine they will grow pretty quickly when young. I bought a 1.75" ebjd 5 weeks ago and it has almost doubled in size

Szar:

Throw out the feeder fish and keep the EBJD inside....Grow them out for a year or untill a pair bonds........If you need "community" excitement untill then, purchase 2 dozen Neon Tetras.......But definatley get rid of the firemouth and mollies.....Place these in another setup........:naughty:

Make sure they get lots of green's. Don't give the EBJD feeder's.

Any reason for why removing them ? especially the fire mouths.

There are no feeders, just molly fry. Why would eating them be bad.
