Don't get your hopes up on the shrimp lasting, haven't kept ghost shrimp with my ebjd but based on the way he smashes krill the ghost shrimp will probably be seen as food but since ghost shrimp are so cheap you have nothing to loose. If you feeds the ebjd good food and keep the water pristine they will grow pretty quickly when young. I bought a 1.75" ebjd 5 weeks ago and it has almost doubled in size

No problem there. They can eat them all they want. Though id set up rock so they can hide easily.

Any reason for why removing them ? especially the fire mouths.

There are no feeders, just molly fry. Why would eating them be bad.

i would get rid of the firemouth becuse one day they could hurt or kill the EBJD becuse they grow faster then the EBJD's. :)

ohh, guess that will do it. If they start out growing the ebjd they are being moved.

Could i stick em in a tank with 2 cons(F) and 2 red jewels(1male for sure) ?

I have an EBJD that tends to go outside the box with the norm of these fish. Mines about 5-6"s and he's an a**hole. He beat the crap out of my male BGJD of the same size, until the BGJD's mate started helping him double team the EBJD. A friend of mine has one that took on and beat up a Red Texas that was 3 times it size. It really depends on the fish. But yes, the Firemouths will most likely need to be moved shortly down the road.

Nice set up too. I love the natural setups. I'm going to work on switching mine over to a natural set up.

On the contrary to most people's experiences i find that my ebjd although still only about 3,5" is just as tough, and even more aggressive than my previous regular JD.

The ebjd will chase away the 5,5" Jag if he gets close, and does the same thing to my bigger viejas.

Nice setup man, and good luck
