Brian loves his Caquetaias :grinyes:

very nice fish

Thanks Del. They're my pride and joy. My long time goal is to get them to breed and get them a bigger tank eventually. 75 would be fine for a pair over the course of a lifetime but they def. deserve better.

Wow nice. Not many people keep spec.

Hopefully this will get people to want to keep them more often. If anybody has any questions about them, feel free to ask.

ahhh, you know them well. I can hear them clear across the room at feeding time. It's pretty impressive. Every once in a while when I get them some guppy feeders, it's fun watching them clumsily chase them around the tank. Still little babies learning.

Yeah, when it comes to chasing down fish, my pike usually gets those. But when the guppies just sit at the surface, the specs get almost all of them. I know the first time my specs got fed in the new tank, the popping almost scared my aro to death (out of the tank). But aro is used to it now.

Awesome man. Do you have any pics of your specs. I would love seeing those dude. About how big are yours. Mine are still babies like i said. That dominate male is about 4 inches and growing bigger by the day.

nice nice. I'm feeding them krill loaded with vitamins so I'll be catching up with you!!! You cheated with vitamins so I had to equal the score.

I basically put them up for you to see dude. I know you've been asking to see them for about a year now :O, or something ridiculous along those lines. So I hope you enjoyed em. Put up some Myersi pics!! just warn me though. I think I need to sit down first before I see them.

I don't have any good pics of them yet, but I am trying. This is my biggest one. It has grown from about 1.5" to 6" in about 2.5-3 months. I have no clue if it is male or female, but I am guessing male. They (originally I had 12) became very aggressive and soon I had 8. Those started tearing each other apart so I spread them out to my friends. I kept 2 that always stayed together and they are good buddies now. I would like to spawn them but they are in a crowded tank with a few other cichlids that would eat the eggs. So for now they are just my pets.:D

I see a female pike cichlid in the background!! :D Tease!!

The tank the myersi in is dark cuz i've only got a 60watt bulb as light, and got a HUGE piece of driftwood that is really leakin tannins in the water. Started addin some oak/acorn (dunno which) leaves to the water too...just a little experiment. I stopped the minerals...although i might start it back up. I'll be gettin some Hikari Sinkin Carnivoure pellets this weekend....so that should boost their growth. Little buggas aren't picky about anything they eat...my finger was on the menu last night...haha

Oh man. Beautiful. I guess I'm not doing enough water changes if yours grew so big so quickly. When I had my last batch of specs, I had one male reach that size in about 3 months but that was a 400 gallon. In the 75 they haven't grown as quickly, :/. Alas, I've had them for about 5-6 months and the biggest is 4 inches. But that guy looks awesome. :D
