My 750 build

Yes, the tank is for both the drip system and doing very large (up to 250 gallon) water changes. It is raised up so I can just use gravity to feed water into the sump. The fresh water will be entering the top of the 275 gallon container and when full will overflow into the tank. The drain will be away from the fresh water inlets to minimize the amount of fresh water leaving the system. I haven't set up the drain yet. Thanks for the compliments on the plumbing!

The drain line is going in today. It is actually going to be in far other end of the filter, in one of the bio ball chambers. It will be a 2" line going out into a sump outside with a sump pump in it. Making it 2" so I can flow my fresh water in and out at equal speed. I'll take some pics later today.

Yeah, I kick myself for not going with a 2" drain! I'm using 1.5" and it works great when I'm only running 2 or three gallons of water per hour. I just added another tank to that line and I plan on adding one more! Also every month or so I will open the valve and push out 100 gallons or so for a quick water change. That 2" line would really be nice. It's really not much more money or trouble running a 2" vs. a 1.5" line, bugs me now lol

Looking forward to those pics :D

Well, hooked up the sump pump yesterday and the float switch didn't work on it. Going to return it today and just use 2" pipe to feed it into a cleanout that is about 15 feet away.

Turtles are doing good. Ended up returning the sump pump and running the waste water directly into the sewage line from the 40 gallon reservoir in back. Everything works perfectly now and I can do a 250 gallon water change in about 10 minutes.
