My African cichlid progression thread

about ready to fill the tank back up, got 6 sponge filters going in my 55 ( kinda over-doing it but thats fine ) after i fill the tank, let the sand settle ( was seperating the sand from gravel, need more sand today ) ill be taking a pic.
 
I'm interested in seeing what it looks like after its cleared up bro. I added half gravel and half sand in my 240 and I really like how it came out. You can see it in this pic...and that's a Midevil, not a koi. Lol
What pH is your water at for the Africans and how do you buffer it? Do you used crushed coral? Around 15 years ago I used to have a really nice African tank(I actually traded it for a car lol) and I used crushed coral for substrate.

nope, 7.5 or 7.4 is my PH ( may be 7.8, as the water company has messed with the water, but haven't tested in a long time ) and will deff post pics tomm! :)
