Damn nice fish...damn nice. I really want one of them but don't have the space...itsen't that always the way? I do have the next best thing though...a bullhead...not an albino one though.

how big do chanle cats get and is it posible to house in outdoor pond. and i had baby bull heads my bichir ate every one of them didnt harm him at all wierd

They get not just big but damn big as in eat your puppy big and yes if you acclimate them slowly to the pond temp they do great in ponds, most are sold as pond stock and they overwinter in the wild up in North Dakota.

They live in the wild here in NY but yeah....HUGE fish.

I wonder what dumb ass came up with the idea to sell them in LFS.

Child: "Look at the fishy mommy, I WANT, I WANT."
Mom: "Ok honey, lets ask the fish store guy if it can survive in our 10g."
Fish Store Guy: "No, thats to small...tank should be at least 29g and they should live in groups of three."

Heh, I work at Petsmart and this young couple came in and wanted to buy one of those Top Fin 5 gallon desk tanks and they had their eyes on a baby albino channel cat. We talked them out of it, thank goodness.

wow..yah channel cat in a 5 gallon.. I can see it now. =) Thats a nice Albino Channel cat!! I have one about the same size minus the albino part. I love that guy.
