It's all luck from what i can tell. Just grow them out, And see what you get?

You got some really cool fish. The gatf, and the tig are awesome.... So are many of the others...
Did you try nightcrawlers with some plastic forceps. If you try starving him again, and give in again after it's been quite a while. Try to give him very small portions of what he want's, instead of filling him up...
It helped a couple of my stubborn fish finally give in. I think it leaves them hungry so they finally are like whatever I guess I'll eat that.
