My alligator gar is not eating

Hey I got a alligator gar about a week and a half ago and I have tried small minnows shrimp earth worms and a bunch more and he still won’t eat. Does anyone have any suggestions because he can’t go much longer thanks

If your gar is healthy it will eat when it's ready. May still be adjusting to its new environment.

Firstly, welcome to the forum.

How big is the gar? What size tank? Any tank mates? Is it a new set up or a well established one? Are your parameters as they should be?

Have you tested your water? Is the tank you’re Keeping it in healthy and cycled?
Is there any other fish that could be stressing the gar?
Is the gar otherwise healthy? Any signs of an injury or illness?

No I haven’t tested the water but he has no sign of being unhealthy their is no other fish in the tank and the water has a ariater

I just got the gar a week or two ago and it won’t eat anything at all and at first I thought it was stress but it’s been a little bit and he is healthy and swimming around the top but he won’t eat
