My Alligator Gar is picky what do I do?

Don't worry it may take awhile. My Florida went a little over 3weeks not eating when I switched him. Than one night he came up to the side and ate it right ouut my hand.......something I don't do anymore sense he goes for the fingers now to. Lol
 
A gator will eventually start eating anything, you aren't being patient enough. Starve it. :)
 
starve him then try pellets
 
my little guys maybe 8" will hit anything from the surface like pellets, freeze dried krill ect The trick is to make a splash or toss it in kida hard they love that and have to come check it out.... 2 seconds later its in there belly... after that they take prawns now :)
 
it took me 4 months to get my gator off live. I'd stave it for a week / week and half then I'd break down and get him some feeders. He finally started taking frozen silversides and now eats frozen anchovies as well. Also it eats everyday now, just have patience.
 
if its its a big enough size just starve it (like most said) and then put some pellets or whatever your trying to feed it in there and itll probably eat them
 
okay first what i would do is starve it if it is over 6", wait a week than try feeding it some pellets. if it dosent take them wait another week then feed more pellets. keep starving till he eats.
P.S it wont starve, it will eat before it starves, also try puting it with other fish that will eat pellets.
