How old was he and do you know why he died?
You beat me to it*

I feel for ya man! You can tell from the pics that he had character.
The photos are really great too. Nice tribute thread.

I don't know his exact age. I am unsure of how old he was in the store, but I had him for a few years.

Not too sure why he died. He loved to eat (but wasn't overfed). One day he started acting different and he wasn't come out as much. He was lying on my side a lot, then just stopped breathing. I had the dovii in there before and after his death, so it's not something that was in the water.

I bought him in April '08. I guess I didn't have him as long as I thought. :(

He ate New Life Spectrum pellets for a staple. When I had a Royal Panaque he would eat the cucumber/zuchinni as well.

For treats I gave him pieces of shrimp (without tails), krill (without shells), and the occasional mealworm or super worm.

That really sux dude, I am sure it was the same for you, but mine really has a personality I never have experienced with any other fish in my 15+ years in the hobby.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys.

Whenever I did tank maintenance, I had to get someone to help keep him distracted. He thought biting me was just a game!

LOL, yeah, I have to get the net out and keep it near my arm (the all powerful net :headbang2) , otherwise I get bit, and it friggin hurts now he's bigger. He will draw blood if he bites hard.
