My answer to the gas prices

I ride bikes and motorcycles cuase my car can't do wheelies. Gas prices also keep me on two wheels though.
 
Anyone have a horse? Horse and buggy? :)


I don't, just bringing it up...it works. The amish got the right idea.

and it brings you DEATH!

I just would not feel safe riding a 400 lb bicycle in the midst of a bunch of cars that-- with the slightest bit of negligence-- could collide with you and send you to the hospital with a plethora of wounds, or worse!
 
Or you could get struck by lightning, sat on by an elephant, slip on a bannana peel, or more realisticly, hit by a semi in your 3000 lb car. We all know the road ways are dangerous. But thanks for your concern.
 
My point was its obviously more dangerous for bikes. You get "nudged" in a car-car incident, you get a paint scratch. You get "nudged" on a bike, something gets seriously screwed up.
 
I got "nudged" by a truck while on a bicycle, wrist still aches and I have a loose bone chip in my eyebrow. If I had been in a car he probably would have noticed and avoided me, if he did brush me like that it might have scraped the paint. Motorcycles have a higher rate of death or injury per accident then do cars, ask any insurer. I still think that they are cool, just that some car drivers are idiots.
