Stick with your african cichlids.

- 3 oscars, 35cm each
- 2 pangasius sutchi, 90cm each
- 1 red belly pacu, 60cm

^ those three are the ones you will need to get out of your tank.

the oscars are fine. The tank is 2.5' wide 35 cm is a foot and a bit. Do not tell him what to get rid of and to keep, just give him a friendly nudge in the right direction.

Your oscars are fine, if you do not feel that you want to get rid of them, don't. just choose their tank mates accordingly. I do advise removing the sharks and pacu. other then that man, I really like it. :)

there are many cichlids you can add with oscars, just watch your water.

1.5' = 45cm, 5cm either side is not what I would call fine.

who makes a tank 2.5' high but 1.5 wide?...

Look at the second last picture. This tank sure as hell ain't 1.5' tall unless the tank is only like 3' long?

People make tanks skinnier than they are tall to save space yet still giving the 'sence' of a large tank.

That's actually a really nice tank!

And the only advice, apart from planning for a bigger tank (Pacu's can get to be 3 feet long) is to separate the African cichlids from the other fish. African cichlids need harder water and can be a lot more aggressive than Oscars.

Nice tank. If you decided to keep them all, just have your brother build you a bigger and wider tank. Problems solved! =)

Doesn't anyone notice the ID sharks. He can get a bigger tank but not keep them all, the IDs will eat the african cichlids. They have very wide and deep mouths and can take on fish 1/3 their size. If you put it that way, a full grown ID shark would be a threat to a fully grown oscar (35cm vs. 120cm)
