I cant believe it really how so suddenly something like that happens. I mean if he did have something he did a really good job hiding it. Eating fine last night swimming fine then this... REDICULOUS... I really wanted to cry

hurry up and set up that 125, even if it is on the floor for now...it's obvious there isn't enough water in that 55 to keep stable, for your bio-load. 6month old aro in a 55 with others??
What filtration are you using??
 
lets see 55 gal+ carnivorous fish + last water change 2 weeks ago = massive bad water which caused the cloudy eye of the oscar, catfish, and probably the growth
 
Unless you've been tracking your water params, you may never know. With your stock and size of tank, weekly 50% water changes are likely what is needed for your tank. A good indication of this is the cloudy eye your fish have.

Unless there are toxins in the water you are adding, the WCs will be nothing but good for the health of your fish. I would keep your temp in the 82 degree range. Add aquarium salt(1 tablespoon per 5g) to also help.
 
I agree 50% wc weekly is a must, might even have to do 2 wc's if your water peram's are out of wack due to your bio load..
 
stocked and not enough water changes.. i agree with zennzzo and set up that 125 and over filter it. oscars alone produce mass amounts of waste, let alone an aro and catfish.
