Mixing parrots with asian aro - sometimesi find parrots really annoying and may harass other fish, though not causing much damage.

^ i was going to say the same, i took my parrots out of the aro tank because the biggest was bumping him all the time. I was worried the aro could suffer kideny or liver damage.
My small parrot got bit on the face for it's agressivness, but it still hindered my RTG. Especially if a feeder went to the bottom, the parrot protected the bottom of the tank and the RTG couldn't get its food.

my parrots are pretty good....they are very peaceful and do not bother the aro....the rtg is the boss of the tank and bullies the flagtail when he feels like it.....
all my kkp do is move the gravel around all day
i think i will get rid of some kkp as they are eating too quickly and my tigrinus can't get to the food!

i am reluctant to put anything that is semi aggresive in the aro tank
with my jardinii, its different, the jardinii would kill anything or fight.
Giant gourami harassed the Jardinii when it got longer that the jardinii, the 11 inch oscar fought with it too.
the only things i can put with jardinii are silver dollars and tinfoil barbs and flagtail.
the red aro is with a synodontis and a fire eel. things that can do no damage lol

I have also recently upgraded to a 180 gal tank. Feels great to see these guys having more space for their own.
The drift wood is beautiful but I feel it might hamper the arowana's movement.
What filtration do you have. I have 2 x 2080s but still want some more...........

the aro is still small so pretty happy with the space he has around the driftwood...when he gets bigger will have to make more space
i run a 5ftx18x18 sump w/d filter beneath with 6000l/hr pump
sump filled completely with japanese mats, seachem matrix, bioballs and coral for pH buffer and purigen as needed.
seems to all work very well

but when he got to 15 inches, he is now

the fish wont feel comfortable cos he cant swim and jet to the food.
I took wood out and he becomes active. when jars get big, they really get fat in girth.
mine is huge!
i feed mine minimum 3 large prawn with shell daily. its stomach looks like it will rapture but it doesnt, next day, its all gone, and wants more!!
