Wow-You certainly do need to read better before you make a comment like that-

I didn't kill it to put it on my wall-I killed cause lack of space-I had just gotten into fish keeping and didn't even use the internet-Let alone for research-

Thanks for the negativity Blazin-

Way to further the hobby-One would have gussed you have tried to educate not hate-But whatever-I can se I'm done with you-Have a great day

o my bad, i need to read more carefully i guess. but why did u have to kill it though? can't u just let it live in the 125G while u looked for the tank? i mean, the aro would rather take the cramped space than to be killed, don't u think? or u can try other ways, like try to find some1 that does have a bigger tank to give it out...etc.
anyways, sorri about the comments be4 :)

This was my pet sir-I did everything possible to save him-

My problem is-That I live in alaska-Not easy to ship a 32 inch aro-Tried to give it away-but even my fish stores around here only had a 180 gal as their biggest tank-I tried to oreder a 240 gal from glasscages to have shipped up here-But the tank alone was $450 and they wanted another $850 to ship it-without a guarantee that it would arrive safe-So then I tried my own forwarding company-They were willing to do it-But glasscages wouldn't crate the tank for me(not even for an extra $500 )So I was screwed-No one locally had a tank big enough to house it-So I did the best thing for him-Now I have found a 500 gal paid over $2800 for it,and am now ready to house another if I choose-
But thanks for the concerns on the issue-

sad that he had to go but damn 32 inches he must eb on steroids nice fish

Very sad-My fish are like dogs to me-And I try to take the best care possible for them-

he was just fed a good diet-Had perfect water params-And recieved massive water changes quite frequently-

It is a shame that you did not research before he got 32inch in a 125. But like you said, lesson learned. It was not your fault the fish store lied to you and you could not find out in over a year how big an aro gets. Did you have this fish before the pacu and knife fish? Our did you grow those out in the 125 also? That was a nice fish it is a shame he went out that way. Dang, that poor fish got taken home by someone that did not know how big he would get in a year and a half and also did not know that coolers are insulated to keep the inside temperature steady. What are the odds? He must of been sitting out there all alone in a box smaller then the one he could barely move in and decided to end it all. People might be able to feel your pain but it sure seems the fish had it worse. Hopefully you do not have a mastiff in a kitty carrier. That would be sad too.
