I guess it feels good. I'm using a temp. 75 waiting for my 150, so there's only a partial covering of sustrate on one end of the tank. The other 2/3 is bare. My Aro swims to the bottom, lays on his side and rubs is side/belly the full length the tank will allow. The he swims back to the other end and does it again.

He's fine, happy as can be, has anyone else seen such behavior? It cracks me up.

nope....sliding over the glass on the bottom? nope.never saw

Why is everything so darn hard to get action photos? I'm setting up the tripod. Then I'll sit there for the next 12 hrs waiting for him to do it again. Then the minute I walk away, he'll do it. This Aro is so funny, he stands on his head and stares at himself in the bottom of the tank.

he's probably just confused as to where's the top and bottom of the tank, lol  ...i'm assuming that you had him in a tank that had substrate before?

Generally, yes, but lately he's chosen to hang out on the end with no sustrate, didn't plan it like that, he's just getting a kick out of something new. He is very in your face inquisitive.

really strange, but the refection thing makes sence...:)

the aro does not see his reflection in the bottom of the tank. From his point of view he is looking through a single pane of glass which will not show a reflection. If you look down from the top of your tank you can see from his point of view.

My discus had similar behavior when they were first placed in a bare bottom tank, seemed like they though they should be able to continue swimming downward through the glass.

Do arows smoke crack sometimes????

Hey Tank You, your last video doesn't leave my head ( have I smoked crack:) )..the point is, I do not like those openings you have on top of the tank, through which you were talking ( did you smoke crack:) ) and feeding the aro's...are those openings allways open,? did not look like there were covers...

Ahhh, so that's why the crack pipe was in the fish tank.......I wondered.
Just kidding. He's scared of his tail now too. It keeps chasing him and everytime he turns around to see if it's gone, it's still chasing him......flippin little freak....
