Real neat do you have to keep them cool ? Will it change to a tiger salamander ?
I don't know about the temps, as I've never kept them, but no, they do not metamorphose into an adult form. They are a variant of the tiger salamander that stays in the larval form all of its life (though I've heard that they can be coaxed into changing with hormone therapy)

Cool pics. I've seen them at shows around here from time to time, but I didn't see any at the show yesterday

im more intrested in salamanders tho

They are salamanders.

Second, they do not metamorphose into tiger salamanders. They are the same genus, different species. Water dogs are a common name for tiger larvae. Axolotls can and do metamorphose sometimes, but not in the wild. Hormone injections or lack of water may cause them to do so. Adults look kind of like a tiger, but slimmer and mostly brown, with a rough look to them.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

yeah, the ideal temp is in the low to mid 60s with 75 degrees being the danger zone so to speak. And as everyone else stated, its neotonic and will not change; its lives out its life in the water (as with all great ]V[onsters lol)
