My baby Arapaima Gigas

My gigas gets kind of crazy when the light is out, what can i do? I cant keep the lights on 24/7...Please help

1. That thing is the smallest gigas I've ever seen!!
2. What do you mean by "go crazy" ?

1) He's at about 7 to 8" there was a smaller one at the fish store at around 6", but i chose him coz he's more active.
2) Crazy as in swimming very fast and sometimes banging the glass.
3) This is a temporary tank for them, this tank was for my small red wolf fish, before i traded it for the cat, therefore i kept them in here for now coz my bigger tank is still in progress.

I would be going crazy too, in that tank, and the catfish can almost touch the opposite sides - you should not have ANY of those fish in such a temporary tank. I am sorry, but I don't think you will be happy with any responses on here...
Haha! thats alright, i understand what you mean, but im working on it, coz i dont wana my fishy in that tank too, i cant just dump them in my bigger tank coz the water is not ready
Talk about putting the cart before the horse - you should not get fish until you can properly care for them. I hope you do not kill any of them through this mistake. Pray tell, how big is the new tank?
New tank at 6', i know u going to say its still not big enough, but planning to put him in my friend pond when it rearch 2' and buy an gold aro
