Thanks! How long do you think it'd take for a P. endlicheri baby to hit the 20''+ mark?

rough guess bout 2 years but im no expert on growth rates, depends on water quality and feeding as well

Carnivorous plants + Bichir = Epic Combo!

Yours is a captive farm bred Endlicheri.
So it most likely will not hit the 20" mark, but if it does, it wont be for a good few years.

They are very special if you live here in Hawaii!

Oh, that's a relief, since there's no way I can upgrade the tank for the time being. If it stays small enough I can house it permanently.

Thanks for all the replies! When I first got the fish I thought it was blind. The Senegals notice me when I walk towards the tank, but the endlicheri doesn't. Then I've read somewhere that they have very poor eyesight anyway. It's also a somewhat picky eater, compared to the voracious Senegals.

The only problem I see, is that that tank may well be 130gal, but it's the height that makes up a large percentage of that.

Your grown Endlicheri is going to need a much longer and wider footprint than this tank. The triangular shape means very little horizontal footprint.
Add to that the fact that it's only half full, you're gonna need an upgrade eventually whatever!

Water level is adjustable, barring the top 7-8 inches. That's still 100+ gallons of water. I don't think the Senegals will ever outgrow the tank, if 12'' is indeed their maximum size. P. endlicheri may, though. The front glass is 56.''
