Now I am looking for one more typed of Monster fish. I am looking for Fire Eel. My location is Singapore
Don't want to be a downer but that's not a good long term mix... The scats need brackish to salt and the dats can go full range from what I hear... But the fire eel is better off in fresh water.

I know but now I want buy fire eel. I total got 6 tank. I going to transfer them in a different tank

Get yourself some good marine aqauarium salt and a salinity measuring tool of your choice. Slowly bring up the salinity! Start with one or two tbs per gallon and bring the total salinity up to 1.015 (in 3-4 years). Take your time! I mean years! In the end you will be adding around 1/4 cup per gallon. Google and your salinity measuring tool is your friend buddy.

I want to make sure you realize that you have to go SLOW! Three to four years to get to full brackish!

But I check internet that Scat don't need brackish water also can. It also can live in freshwater

It can. But it is VERY difficult long term. In the wild they transition from fresh to brackish/salt throughout their life. Most people can't keep them long term and it is because they require brackish water. You can use crushed coral/perfect water/ and a big tank to help. I've tried to keep monos in fresh. I had them for maybe 4 years. They didn't thrive. Eventually passing away. It's a chance you can take... But at this point I try to be responsible and make the fish comfortable or not keep them at all. Though I have seen people keep trevally in full fresh. Giant Trevally 50-60 lbs (we call them ulua) in full fresh with koi in a huge pond! Fish are pretty adaptable. So anything is possible. Good luck bro!

I think those are scats not dats lol
I sure hope that whoever Samuel got them from did not tell him they were dats...and,four years to make brackish water?

I have never heard of it taking anywhere near that long to create brackish water for an aquarium.

I guess. You can go faster. You can do it in one day if you'd like... Lol. But they are in full freshwater. A year would be fine. A slow acclimation is better? No? Saves money over time. Since they move from a fresh environment to brackish? Easier on your fish. Slow and steady. What's the lifespan of scats and dats? Quick google of a scat says 20 years sooo... But that's just my opinion in a closed environment like an aquarium. By 3-4 years he should definitely in full brackish. Sooner would be better. But it ain't gonna hurt if the time is more like 4 years from what he has the fish in now to the tank he will get to... Hopefully.
