Any of the dwarf monitors are good to start. They're expensive, but very gratifying to keep.

I guess its all relative. Ackies typically max out at 2' which is TINY. My Melinus will crest that 4' mark.

Wtf! merten's price has really gone up! Used to b 200/ 300 dollars here.i recommended them for the ease of keeping and taming.

U can also get storr's monitors, still not cheap, but u can get a hypo one for about 400 dollars.

I found myself without a fish tank earlier this year. Trying to fill the void, I got my hands on a Quince monitor. I'm glad I did, as this thing is amazing. Enjoy the pics!

I actually had to part with this guy a few weeks ago. My apartment was starting to look (and smell) like a zoo. I'll be back keeping monitors in the future, but its just not in the cards right now .
