Was only able to afford 2 of them cuz they're so expensive lol $20 each. And is it a good idea to grow them out with convicts?

Its ok to grow out with clown loaches but not the convicts, Con's mature at 1-1.5" and can cause major damage to a small festae, once the festaes are over 4.5" then you could get smaller cons no problem.
might want to add some decorations...like wood or rocks and caves maybe plants....so the festaes could hide because the cons will get bigger quicker and be aggressive towards them.....good pic up !
x2 on decor... not only cuz of the convicts but also themselves. I have so many caves of all types and sizes and one of mine still got its fins/tail shredded by one of its siblings... they're pretty nasty even at such a tiny size.
I'd relocate the Cons, Festae grow very slow. The Cons will mature and kill the Festae fry. They may look the same size but its a classic case of a baby vs midget in a bar fight.
Cons are a dime a dozen. Don't let them ruin your investment.
There's no way I would risk losing such expensive and beautiful cichlids to a bunch of Convicts. Cons will be rough on the small Festae until they mature. Remove the cons until your Festae grow larger.
