May I ask why it is bad to keep 2 bass together in the same tank as babies
my azuls started fighting just after a month i bought them.Since they were with other tankmates,i thought they might stop and i left them in the tank that night only to see 1 dead the next morning.

I am not that sure about magnesium chloride cuz its usually used in saltwater aquariums and reef tanks .

try to find EPSOM salt cuz thats what always works for me.
If u cant find it ,use non iodized rock salt .Do not use artificial table salt.
If u cant find any of the above ,use the common rock salt which consists iodin. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO WASH THAT SALT THOROUGHLY to remove the iodin . I used this once to treat my arowana during lockdown and it worked .

always read the ingredients .

Have you tried bloodworms? While they shouldn't be the main food source long term, they are known to be one food that fish will take to even when ignoring others
