Its not like people do any better to the animals we eat...ever seen videos or pictures of the kill floor of a slaughterhouse?

Nature isn't always pretty, snakes are specialized predators that know when they need to expend energy to safely consume prey, and they also know when the prey is harmless enough to eat without killing it beforehand.

Congrats on getting your ball to eat though. You shouldn't feel guilty for feeding live...

Opinions opinions.

Good job getting him feeding miguel. Lets hope he takes F/T or P/K soon.

Sorry but thats not an opinion.
If he can get it feeding f/t and/or p/k he should. You'd be a fool to advise otherwise. Feel free to take it the PM if you wish ;)

Glad the ball ate, you are a very strong willed individual Im sure you will acheive your goal...

So my statement was an opinion, and yours isn't? Are you serious?

I suppose that then you'd also say that the top reptile breeders in the US who feed live (NERD, Ralph Davis, BHB, list goes on) are fools as well.

I respect the opinions of those who do things differently from me. The fact that live feeding can be done safely (yes, that is a fact and your denial of that indicates your experience with reptiles doesn't go any futher than pure hobby level) doesn't change the fact that I'd never knock someone down for wanting to stick to pre-killed prey. I won't stand by and let someone feel bad for something that they shouldn't feel bad about. There is no shame in meeting the needs of a living thing that is in your care. If that requires live food, so be it. Its not like he never tried f/t or p/k to begin with. He tried it, it didn't work, and he switched to something that did with the best interests of the animal at heart. Where's the shame in that?

guys, chill out, please!

I love you all...

Just trying to help Miguel, that's all. My advice to you would be to get your ball back up to an appropriate weight on live food, and then attempt to switch over if you think that would be best.

Hey, that's great news Miguel! Pleased it was this and not a problem. Good luck with the switching...
Did it go for it straight away? I'd just keep trying mimick live with a heated prey item while moving it with tongs. It can be a long tedious process, but good luck!
