These are one of my project i do with Polypterus breeding.
When it's done, hope i become lucky enough to share the data with researchers for recovering project of natural population of barca.

I think it will not take that long for the goal from now.

The one flaring in the photo is female (Proven), and other one with slightly darker color is male.

They're absolutely beautiful. Mind sharing setup details and how the spawning works/will work?
I put some floating grass in the tank, but they broke them all so i'm thinking to put it right before their spawning.
For now, 90.45.50cm tank with some garnet sand and draft wood, external filter is all.
filter is Kotobuki power box 1200x model fill with Ehime Substrate pro and some filter cotten.

Lighting systems and temperature are controled based on daily data of their natural habitat, Assam state of India.

For more basic concept of their breeding

Like all people know, snakeheads from India reproduce in spring.
The difference between species is some species need rain to breed and some doesn't with seasonal temperature and light change.
(Like channa andrao don't need rain for breed but C. bleheri needs it)

It can be quite important clue too.

Lovely fish. Please do share your thoughts on breeding them i think its crucial to try and breed these in captivity and to stop them being taken from the wild and also to restock them in the wild too.

You mentioned the female is 'proven'? How so?
