My basement smells %$&@ing disgusting! Any ideas?

i have a finished basement and i still run 2 dehumidifiers down there all year round.. you really need to get at least one down there.. i couldnt imagine not having one-it would be mildewy smelling..

I know that smell, I had my old 135 in my room and the smell gets to you. Best way to avoid the smell is to cover up the top very good.

I'm an idiot, and I can't smell very good. Really disgusting but at least it was easy to clean up.

get you a window fan and keep it on exhaust (sucking air out of the room), that wont drop the temp to much and it will rid your air of all the excess moisture.

So I just called my mom down there since she has a better sense of smell than me and what does she find.. A 3lb. bag of frozen shrimp thats been sitting out for 4-5days that I forgot to put away. Probably the nastiest thing ever but.. I'm so happy it's not mold. Still going to price some dehumidifiers though.
