Yeah young Cichlid have teeth. My 2 1/2 inch Convict Cichlid has teeth.

And beside the outer teeth, all cichlids have a second set of jaws and teeth in their throat.

Yeah most cichlids have teeth, they’re just usually hidden under the lips. My male Texas back in 2017 had a pretty decent set at 5-6 inches, I’ll have to dig around and find some pictures. Both my jags have a nasty set at 8-10 inches. My buttikoferi had the nastiest chompers I’ve seen, even more so than my male jag and rivaling members of the parachromis family. You used to hear her teeth against the glass when she was glass banging.

My multies have teeth and the adult males are 3in.

It is a wonder they don't do more damage to each other when they lip lock seen many video's of various cichlids lip locking with hardly any damage after a lip locking duel.

Their lips aren’t exactly soft so it takes time to see visible damage. But you can see it pretty often in pairs after lip locking for an extended period of time.
