Hey guys,
I am really proud of this one! Dad and I built this. It still has work, but is looking great. It is all wired up to one plug. I used a cord from an old vacuum cleaner we have, the cord is like 4 feet long
Basically, when I plug it in, the whole unit has power. Two outlets (4 plugs) are on a timer. This timer is currently set to 12 hour intervals, and I can adjust as necessary. Plugged into that is the African Bullfrogs light (In the middle) and the Beardie's basking spot, as well as the beardie's 3 foot UVB bulb. The basking spot can be adjusted by a dial. The hottest I have gotten it is 130. (Gives you an idea of the insulation on this puppy) The other outlet is for anything else I need, currently empty. I also have a third outlet, wired to a switch above the ABF's tank. I have a socket in the beardie's cage plugged into that one, with a night bulb. If it starts getting too cold at night, I flip that switch. The last outlet on the top is always on, for whatever I may need. Currently empty. I also have one more outlet always on at the bottom of the tank, which has the timer plugged into it. (The timer that is running the 2 outlets on the top.)
The cage itself was made with 2X4's, and wrapped with Melamine to make it brighter on the inside. I also insulated the beardie's sides to keep in the heat. Lastly, I added two vents at the top, which I can open and close.
Using a dato blade, I created slides for the front top and bottom. I placed on these slides the Plexi doors at the top and the Melamine doors at the bottom. I then finished off the cage with trim. (Ran out of trim, had to use two different types
)
Any questions, just ask!
She looks weird, cuz she was blinking when I took this pic.
Just noticed the temp probe suction cup fell off. Looks bad
Gives you an idea of how big it is.
