i have one of these things about 6inch long it has eaten 2 5 inch silver sharks i was told when i baught it that it was not a preditory fish.... now gona have to think about movin it
went to local fish shop to get some test strips and some filter media and had a quick look at the tanks and they had one for £10 which i couldnt walk away from
its now decided all caves belong to it and just kinda gently kicks everyone else out of them also my buenos aires tetras (which are all atleast 3.5 inch) are going missing so they need to go the shop with my 3 bumblebee jelly catfish
i have no problem with live baiting but am a bit soppy about my own fish that wherent put in as feeders

look on planet catfish under catfish of the month. they are down as p. fowleri. a close relative raneiri is well cool as well
I have 2. The larger one is 13 inches. They can AND WILL eat tankmates that you think wouldn't fit into their mouths. I don't even want to list the fish that I've lost to their stomachs. And these aren't even elongated fish, but tall ones like a Datnoid (ouch...). I'm sure your catfish is making plans for the red devil as we speak. I also found them to be quite aggressive and territorial and would chase and bite other fish away from their territory. They're awesome!
