My BGK broke its tail

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The bgk died recently. I though it was getting better, I felt I did what I was saposed to do. Maybe they can't live without the white tail? I don't know, but he didn't make it.

So sorry, man. Don't know what I'd do if my BGK died. Your fella might have gotten an infection in the wound before you started the melafix; also, they are such loners, he may have been better off in his own hospital tank--less stress the better when ill. Yeah, I say that, but all of mine have ended up as grow-out tanks!
The melafix is really the best all-around treatment unless infection sets in--I've used it many times when my fish have had scrapes or got the cr*p beat out of them (my p. polleni almost destroyed my O; he hung on for a long time but had too much flaying!)

I even gave it a nice aquarium decoration thats like a cave to feel safe. I went to change 20% of the water today and I lift up the pot to see how his is, and hes dead. I'm going to wait till I get another tank before I get another one; they need to be will easier going fish than the ones I currently have. I do miss him though they are very cool fish and this one was quite personable and ate bloodworms right from my hand.

that makes me very sad =(
i love my bgk i would hate to see him in pain or suffering or even picked on lol
he is my baby

best thing to do. awesome fish to have, and there tons of easy going fish out there that would make a new BGK live in your tank as pleasant as can be. good to hear your not giving up on knives, one of the most interesting fish there are.
