My bichirs are grounded! For life!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
funny, in my big boys tank (ornates and endli endli) they have a few tankmates, recently added 2 tiger O's and their longest tenant a BGK! it even share the same hiding spot w/ one of my ornates. ( it seems my BGK have made itself look big, and my bichirs believe that he can't possibly fit in their mouths)

that blows man, not funny, i almost lost my elephantnose to my onrante (Snr. Puff) but intervened for the saftey of both and no longer have the elephant nose(bichirs first right:grinyes: ) but my thought was this,

that bgk bottom fin was constantly undulating right? imagine what kind of "lil" currents that makes in in water, same with the elephant noses pectoral fins. i think they agtacked it out of annoyance, it being to big to eat whole, and then ate it due to the semi shortage of food in thier natural habitat (waste not ;)).

just an idea in the hopes that you wont be disscuaraged from adding other tankmates, my little(or lil) ornate now is quite happy with its plethera of tank mates. i just think nervous and hyper fish bug predators beceause they hunt with theyre lat lines which pick up the vibrations of the said nervous fish as a food scource.
like i said just an idea and in my cased i thinbk it was true beceause Snr. Puff is extremely tolerant of his other tankmates.

that sux
